"Over the next 10 years, our economic team estimates that under our plan, the economy will average 3.5 percent growth and create a total of 25 million new jobs", Trump said.
The presidential candidate said in a speech to a the Economic Club of NY, a business group, that his economic team projects his plans would enable the economy to grow at a rate of 3.5 percent. Those forces have led even conservative economists to say a 3.5 percent growth rate is improbable.
Trump said his team believes that his trade, energy and regulation policies and a new plan to cut nondefense spending by 1 percent each year would keep his plan from adding to USA government deficits.
Donald Trump's son argued his father can't release his tax returns because that would allow voters to scrutinize them in a way that would detract from the candidate's main message.
"It's still very pie-in-the-sky", said Marc Goldwein, senior vice president for the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, a nonpartisan group that advocates keeping government budgets under control.
The economy is now expected to grow by roughly 2 percent a year, and economists say Trump's proposed restrictions on immigration would be among the many things hampering his ability to double that rate of expansion.
Oren Cass, a fellow at the Manhattan Institute and domestic policy director of Republican Mitt Romney's 2012 presidential bid, said the plan for 1 percent cuts in some programs would not be enough to pay for Trump's proposals.
The remaining deficit would be shaved by reducing government spending, although Trump said there would be no reduction in defense and Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, which together make up about three-quarters of the federal budget. Though Clinton's tax hikes could slow the nation's growth, he said, they'd pay for far more of her spending proposals and lead to a deficit a tenth the size of Trump's. Yet if benefits to veterans are included as part of defense spending, the programs Trump places off limits for cuts make up almost 70 percent of the federal budget, and it wasn't immediately clear how he would reach his spending cut goal with such programs off the table.
Cristiano Ronaldo Wants 10-Year Contract At Real Madrid
Right now, I'm not thinking about anything else in my career, all I want is to retire at Real. Danilo, Sergio Ramos, Pepe and Luka Modric also found the net for Zinedine Zidane's side.
Trump said he will lift restrictions on energy production, including offshore drilling, scrap trade deals like the North American Free Trade Agreement and the Trans-Pacific Partnership, and implement a child care plan, including six weeks of paid maternity leave, he outlined earlier this week.
It would also put Trump in direct conflict with House Speaker Paul Ryan, whose plans for the federal budget, widely embraced by Republicans, call for reining in the costs of programs such as Medicare and Social Security. He said he'd pay for that by cutting waste and fraud in the nation's unemployment program.
But many economists are skeptical.
But other economists, conservative and liberal, are much more circumspect that Trump's plan could achieve such rapid growth.
Trump's plan would reduce the tax brackets for individual income tax to three from the current seven, with the highest rate dropping to 33% from 39.6%.
He also proposes simplifying the US tax code for individuals, reducing the current seven tax brackets to three: 12 percent, 25 percent and 33 percent of income after deductions.
Trump's proposal, which he detailed in a speech in NY, would reduce the top individual rate to 33 percent from the current 39.6 percent.
As president, Trump said he would cut the number of regulations imposed by the federal government, including some that are created to combat climate change and protect the food Americans eat.
