As arguably the most talked about player in the NBA, in terms of being traded, Dwight Howard continues to be in all the headlines in the league with the Brooklyn Nets doing everything within their power to acquire the superstar center via trade.

Over the past two weeks or so, Howard has been linked to many different teams in all sorts of trade scenarios. The Los Angeles Lakers appeared to be the frontrunner to land the veteran center with supposedly the best bargaining chip in Andrew Bynum, but a deal to the Lakers may be off the table with the Nets adamant about landing Howard in a deal that will make them the next super team in the NBA.

Apparently, the only way a deal is going to get done in which Howard heads to Brooklyn is if a third team is involved. A lot of teams have be skeptical about making this happen as it will create another team that will be near unbeatable with the combination of three superstars in Howard, Joe Johnson and Deron Williams.

Regardless of the outcome, the Cleveland Cavaliers appear to be that third team with the willingness to take on Kris Humphries and MarShon Brooks. Both players were not options that the Orlando Magic wanted in return for the face of the franchise.

Even though it appears that the Nets may have finally found a way to bring Howard to Brooklyn, nothing is set in stone as of right now with the Lakers and possibly the Houston Rockets still in the running. There’s an outside chance that the Atlanta Hawks might be able to get involved in the late stages with Howard being a hometown boy and the Hawks having the right pieces centered on Al Horford to make a deal.
