#1 Oklahoma City Thunder (40-12)
The Oklahoma City Thunder has officially become the top dogs in the NBA. There was no question that the Thunder were the top team in the Western Conference with no team within the conference being about to compete with the two-head monster of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, but now the rest of the league has taken notice with the Thunder beating the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls in the same week.
#2 San Antonio Spurs (36-14)
As they continue to fly under the radar this season, the San Antonio Spurs has been able to keep their heads above water and in the hunt for the number one seed in the Western Conference. The Spurs will continue to put pressure on the Thunder at the top of the standings in the West, but it would be safe to say they will be locked in at the second seed.
#3 Chicago Bulls (42-12)
Despite playing without superstar point guard Derrick Rose for 10 games, the Chicago Bulls still have the best record in the NBA and a tight grip on the number one seed in the Eastern Conference. The health of Rose moving forward if is a major concern for the Bulls, but they might be able to rest him and stand firm at number one in the East in the meantime.
#4 Miami Heat (37-14)
The Oklahoma City Thunder and the Chicago Bulls has cemented themselves as the two teams in the NBA with the Miami Heat officially taking a backseat. With the Heat starting to fall down the standings, Miami might be in trouble come playoff time.
#5 Los Angeles Clippers (31-21)
After plenty of rumors around the league about Clippers head coach Vinny Del Negro being on the hot seat in Los Angeles, Chris Paul and company have turned it around and started to put some pressure on the Los Angeles Lakers in the Pacific division and in the Western Conference standings.
