Just when the Brett Favre rumors and speculation about yet another comeback started to disappear into the darkness forever, the three-time NFL MVP quarterback becomes relevant once again as there is still one team that is in desperate need of a veteran quarterback. The Miami Dolphins have been looking for a quarterback to fill the gigantic shoes of NFL legend Dan Marino for quite some time, but have never gotten any player that could come close to getting this prolific passing game back on track.
Ever since the NFL lockout ended, the Miami Dolphins have been actively pursuing a quarterback and targeted Kyle Orton of the Denver Broncos. With the Broncos grooming second-year quarterback Tim Tebow to be the face of the franchise, Kyle Orton was thought to have taken a backseat to the former Heisman trophy winner, but that doesn’t appear to be the case just yet as Orton will most likely be the starter under center in the Mile High City once the NFL regular season gets underway.
With that being said, the Broncos will hold off on a trade that was supposed to send Kyle Orton to the Dolphins for the time being. Now that Kyle Orton is not an option and neither Chad Henne nor the recently signed Matt Moore seems to be the man for the job, the Miami Dolphins are considering bringing Brett Favre out of retirement.
Reportedly, Brett Favre’s agent still claims that the future Hall of Famer is retired and has no intentions of making a comeback. This is something that NFL teams and fans have become all to accustom to hearing around this time of the year which leads people to believe that the one-time Super Bowl champ might give it one more shot.
