AFC Wild Card: Cincinnati Bengals @ Houston Texans

Cincinnati Bengals @ Houston Texans Sat. Jan. 7, 2012 4:30 p.m. EST

One of the more intriguing matchups of the NFL playoffs will happen in the AFC Wild Card with the up-and-coming Cincinnati Bengals taking on the AFC South division champion Houston Texans. With both of these teams filled with young talent and having played much better than anticipated throughout the NFL regular season, anything can happen in this Wild-Card showdown as neither team has much experience in the playoffs.

This season was a breakout year for the Houston Texans as Arian Foster and company were finally able to win the AFC South division title and make the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. Even though the Texans have taken some major blows in the regular season with season-ending injuries to Mario Williams, Matt Schaub and Matt Leinart, Houston has been able to keep on trucking and now will be looking to make more history with a first playoff win.

The Cincinnati Bengals on the other hand were able to defy the odds this season with an extremely young and inexperienced squad. With rookies Andy Dalton and A.J. Green becoming forces to be reckoned right out of the gate in Cincinnati, the Bengals have been impressive to say the least and may be on their way to pulling off the slight upset this weekend in Houston.

As of right now, the Houston Texans have been given the edge to come out on top at home with a -3 point spread. Even though the Texans have unproven rookie quarterback under center with T.J. Yates, Houston has been favored, but I believe Andy Dalton will lead the Bengals to a win over the Texans in this AFC Wild Card matchup.
