After winning Super Bowl XLVII, the Baltimore Ravens franchise must make some difficult decisions with some of the team’s biggest names either set to hit free agency or heading into retirement.

With superstar linebacker Ray Lewis letting it be known he intends to retire following his 17^th year in the NFL to become an NFL analyst with ESPN, the team will turn to Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco to lead the franchise into the future.

After putting on an incredible performance in the NFL playoffs and Super Bowl, Flacco will head into free agency on the verge of a signing a lucrative long-term deal with the Ravens. Flacco will likely sign a historic deal with Baltimore making him the highest-paid player in the NFL.

Although the team is expected to retain Flacco for the long-term, two of the team’s most important players on both sides of the football may not return next season. Veteran safety Ed Reed and wide receiver Anquan Boldin have uncertain futures in Baltimore moving forward with Reed possibly leaving the team via free agency and Boldin possibly being released by the squad.

Despite having an extremely productive postseason with 380 yards and four touchdowns including an incredible clutch catch in the Super Bowl, Boldin is set to make $6 million in the final year of his deal with the Ravens and the team is leaning towards cutting the veteran.

With Boldin potentially a free agent as a result of being released, the 10-year veteran has said he’ll retire with no desire to play for any other team in the league. Boldin has let it be known that he will not play for another squad despite lucrative offers and will only play for Baltimore for the rest of his career in the NFL.
