NBA Trade: Four-Team trade sending Ariza to New Orleans and Collison to Indiana

The NBA free agent market is pretty much over and done with after the last big-name in Tracy McGrady deciding to sign with the Detroit Pistons recently, but that doesn’t mean that teams around the league aren’t still considering making trades as the Houston Rockets, Indiana Pacers, New Jersey Nets and the New Orleans Hornets.

Reportedly, both the Hornets and the Rockets were content with letting some of their best players hit the road this summer after just one season with the team. Continue Reading…

Over the past month or so, the NBA has been buzzing about who the two-time scoring champion Tracy McGrady would be playing with next season as workouts with both the Los Angeles Clippers and Chicago Bulls didn’t go as well as anticipated and the defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers seemed to no longer be interested after re-signing Shannon Brown. Dallas Cowboys beat Cincinnati Bengals in Terrell Owens debut

The NFL regular season might still be about a month away with the New Orleans Saints starting off their title defense against the Minnesota Vikings on September 9th, but preseason has officially begun with the Dallas Cowboys taking on the Cincinnati Bengals in the Hall of Fame Game.

Not only was this game a big deal for the Dallas Cowboys as they witnessed arguably their best player of all-time in running back Emmitt Smith get inducted into the Hall of Fame, but it would also be the first time they would see former Cowboy Terrell Owens on the other side of football field as he made his debut with the Bengals. Oklahoma City Thunder sign rookie center Cole Aldrich

The Oklahoma City Thunder are arguably the most promising young team in the NBA as last season they went from one of the worst teams in the league to a playoff team with a very bright future.

Despite making it into the playoffs for the first time in franchise history and giving the defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers a run for their money in the first round, the Oklahoma City Thunder still had a good amount of draft picks to use in the 2010 NBA Draft in order to improve their size in the paint and contend with teams like the Lakers moving forward. Denver Broncos lose Pro Bowl linebacker Elvis Dumervil to injury

The Denver Broncos suffered a major blow this Wednesday when they learned that their Pro Bowl linebacker and arguably best defensive player in outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil would miss the next four months with a torn pectoral muscle.

This was bad news to say the least for the Broncos as they had just signed Dumervil to a huge contract extension over the next five years worth about $58 million dollars and an unprecedented $43 million guaranteed over the length of the contract. Continue Reading…

Boston Celtics sign Shaq to upgrade frontcourt

The Boston Celtics were noticeably struggling against the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals recently as their frontcourt just couldn’t contend with the likes of Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum in the paint.

Despite being outmatched in the paint, the Celtics were still able to take the defending NBA champion Lakers to the full seven games, but ultimately lost in game seven and went home empty handed. Continue Reading…

NFL Reports say that Vikings QB Brett Favre will retire

There are very few Hall of Fame caliber quarterbacks that have been able to stand the test of time and the brutal beatings sustained throughout a long NFL season year after year, but despite fighting through an unprecedented 19 years in the league, Brett Favre has been able to stay relatively healthy and amongst the best at his position.

Last season the Silver Fox decided to give it one more shot behind center for the Minnesota Vikings. The consensus was that with Favre as their quarterback, the Vikings would instantly become a Super Bowl title contender instead of team that struggles to make the playoffs in the NFC Conference. Online sportsbooks loved the action with Minnesota last year. Continue Reading…

Colts want Peyton Manning to become highest paid player in the NFL

The Indianapolis Colts have been one of the most successful teams in the NFL over the past decade or so as they always seem to be a threat to contend for a Super Bowl title every single season. Even though it is team effort for the Colts, the main reason for their success has been the presence of four-time NFL MVP Peyton Manning behind center. Continue Reading…

Coming into the 2010 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos were owners of the 25th overall pick and even though most people anticipated head coach Josh McDaniels leaning in the direction of drafting a wide receiver after trading Pro Bowler Brandon Marshall to the Miami Dolphins, he surprised everyone by selecting Florida superstar Tim Tebow.
