The Oklahoma City Thunder are arguably the most promising young team in the NBA as last season they went from one of the worst teams in the league to a playoff team with a very bright future.

Despite making it into the playoffs for the first time in franchise history and giving the defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers a run for their money in the first round, the Oklahoma City Thunder still had a good amount of draft picks to use in the 2010 NBA Draft in order to improve their size in the paint and contend with teams like the Lakers moving forward.

The Thunder made their first splash in the NBA Draft by making a trade with the New Orleans Hornets for Kansas center Cole Aldrich. The pick was the 11^th overall and the trade was a great move for a team looking to drastically improve their size and length.

Reportedly, the Thunder have agreed to terms with their rookie center from Kansas as they have signed Cole Aldrich, but have neglected to announce the terms they have reached with the big man.

Even though the terms of the deal have been undisclosed, Aldrich will most likely make about $1.8 million in his first year, $1.9 in his second and a third-year option worth about $2 million with a fourth year at $2.7 million.

Aldrich was the first of four rookies acquired by the Oklahoma City Thunder on draft night while the league’s leading scorer Kevin Durant watched and waited from the floor.

This move will almost certainly make the Thunder better next season, but it is uncertain how well Aldrich will play on the next level and whether or not he will get much playing time in his first season in the league.
