Dallas Cowboys @ Philadelphia Eagles Sun. Oct. 30, 2011 8:20 p.m. EST
The NFC East division is as competitive as ever this season with all four teams having a legitimate shot to win the division title. Even though the New York Giants and the Washington Redskins could end up on top of this division, the two most talented and popular teams in the division are the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Unfortunately, both the Cowboys and the Eagles have failed to live up to expectations thus far this season. Not only have these two very talented football teams struggled in the first half of the NFL regular season, but as a result of their struggles they are basically in desperation mode from here on out as every game is a must-win situation.
The Philadelphia Eagles are the more desperate team at this point in time as they have only two wins on the season and have constantly been surrounded by negative criticism due to their poor play. With every loss this team endures, the job security of head coach Andy Reid is put into question along with Michael Vick’s status as the starting quarterback.
Even though it could be argued that the Philadelphia Eagles are back on the right track after beating the division rival New York Giants before their bye week, the Dallas Cowboys are the better all-around football team right now in my opinion and should get the win over Andy Reid’s squad in Week 8.
As of right now, the Philadelphia Eagles have been given the edge in this NFC East division showdown with a -4 point spread. The Eagles might be capable of getting the win in Week 8, but taking the Cowboys would be the safe bet.
