Washington Redskins @ New York Giants Sun. Dec. 5th 2010 1pm EST
The Washington Redskins headed into this NFL regular season with high hopes of finally turning the troubled franchise around as they made two big moves in adding two-time Super Bowl champion head coach Mike Shanahan and six-time Pro Bowl quarterback Donovan McNabb, but they will be heading into Week 13 with a disappointing record of 5-6.
Even though it seems like a long shot for the Redskins to make the playoffs this season, Washington will have the opportunity to improve their chances of being playoff bound if they can get a win over the division rival New York Giants this Sunday at New Meadowlands Stadium. The online sportsbooks are loving this game and have the Giants as 7 point favorites, which is to be expected for this NFL football betting matchup.
Obviously, the other McNabb and company getting the best of the Giants this weekend is a stretch in itself as New York is one of the best teams in the league on both sides of the football, but the Redskins do have the potential to pull off the upset if they can get their offense firing on all cylinders against the lockdown defense of the Giants.
Despite losing in disappointing fashion to the Philadelphia Eagles a couple of weeks ago, the New York Giants are still in the mix for the NFC East division title this season and will improve their chances of winning that division title with a win over Mike Shanahan squad.
Coming into this NFC East showdown, the Giants will be without one of their best players on the offense as the football in the seemingly Pro Bowl bound wide receiver Hakeem Nicks (leg). Without Nicks the Giants offense will be at a disadvantage, but I still believe New York should cruise to victory as they are without a doubt the better team and ready to contend for the division title.
