NFL Playoffs: Baltimore Ravens vs Kansas City Chiefs in AFC Wildcard game

AFC Wildcard: Baltimore Ravens @ Kansas City Chiefs Sun. 9th 2011 1pm EST

The Baltimore Ravens have been arguably one of the best teams in the league all season long and were able to finish the NFL regular season with an impressive 12-4 record, but it wasn’t enough to win the AFC North division title and as a result have been given the 5th seed in the AFC Conference.

Being the 5th seed in the AFC, the Ravens will head to Kansas City in the first round of the playoffs to face off against the AFC West division champion Chiefs.

Despite not being able to play on their home field in the first round of the playoffs, the Ravens may have lucked out in their first playoff matchup. There is no question that the Chiefs are a very good football team, especially when it comes to the running game, but whether or not they can compete with the Ravens defense remains to be seen.

Personally, I believe the Baltimore Ravens are the better all around football team and will ultimately advance to the next round of the playoffs, but the Kansas City Chiefs will give this team a run for their money.

As of right now, the Baltimore Ravens are favored to win this playoff matchup with a -3 point spread.

Even though I believe the Kansas City Chiefs could make a game of this and turn this into one of the most intriguing matchups of Wildcard weekend, the Baltimore Ravens should come out on top while covering the spread.

The Ravens defense against the Chiefs running game will be the thing to watch this weekend in Kansas City. If Ravens run defense can contain Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles, this will be a long day for Kansas City.
