Chicago Bears @ Oakland Raiders Sun. Nov. 27, 2011 4:05 p.m. EST
The Chicago Bears suffered a major blow this week as they found out that franchise quarterback Jay Culter could be done for the season with a broken thumb that required surgery. Without Cutler under center, the Bears offense is considered to be one dimensional as they will have to strictly go with the ground game and depend on up-and-coming running back Matt Forte to put points on the board.
Now that Jay Culter will be helpless to help this team on the sidelines, the Chicago Bears will turn to backup Caleb Haine. Even though Haine played much better than anyone anticipated in the NFC Championship game last year against the arch division rival Green Bay Packers, the Bears will almost certainly use him this weekend to just hand the football off to Forte coming out of the backfield.
With the Bears offense becoming predictable heading into this Week 12 showdown, the Oakland Raiders defense will be licking their chops as they will know what is coming and try to take advantage of that knowledge.
The key to victory for the Oakland Raiders this weekend will be their offense. New starting quarterback Carson Palmer has started to come on strong as of late and helped this team win two in a row coming into this matchup, but he might be facing his biggest challenge of the season against the lockdown defense of the Chicago Bears.
As of right now, the Oakland Raiders have been given the edge to come out on top in Week 12 with a -4 point spread in their favor. This spread is a bit risky as the Raiders can be streaky, but I believe Oakland will cover.
