New York Jets to be on HBO’s Hard Knocks again?

A few years ago, the New York Jets burst onto the scene both on the football field and in the media after appearing in HBO’s Hard Knocks. The exposure of the show game made Jets head coach Rex Ryan an instant star and a target for all media outlets in the Big Apple. Ryan became one the most popular head coaches in the league and was able to single-handedly turn around the struggling storied NFL franchise after a failed attempt with Brett Favre under center.

Fortunately, appearing on the show was definitely a step in the right direction for the Jets as they rose up the ranks in the AFC Conference with two straight AFC Championship games. Despite the success of the team and the distinction as one of the elite teams in the NFL, the Jets were getting their fair share of criticism mainly due to the guarantees by head coach Rex Ryan.

After a disappointing season last year in which the Jets missed the playoffs entirely, Rex Ryan may very well be on the hot seat in New York next season. Along with Ryan potentially being on the hot seat from the word go next season, the plot has thicken in the Big Apple with the Jets acquiring third-year quarterback Tim Tebow from the Denver Broncos after the free agent signing of superstar Peyton Manning.

As if adding Tebow to the mix in New York wasn’t enough to bring even more attention to this controversial football team, the Jets might be on HBO’s Hard Knocks for a second time before next season. Whether or not this is the right decision remains to be seen, but it will definitely be a big draw for football fans and people interested in the New York Jets.
