The Linsanity continues for the New York Knicks after the team was able to take down the Sacramento Kings, 100-85, on Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden for a seventh straight win with up-and-coming point guard Jeremy Lin as a starter. Even though Lin didn’t have a big game offensively with just 10 points (4-of-6 shooting) against the Kings, the league’s hottest player did get a career-high in another category by dishing out an impressive 13 assists.

With this win over the Kings in the Big Apple, the New York Knicks are back to .500 and have a winning record at the Garden (15-15 overall, 8-7 home record). There is no question at this point that Jeremy Lin has been the driving force for this team and the main reason for the Knicks’ resurgence, but the question remains on whether or not the red-hot point guard and superstar Carmelo Anthony can coexist.

Now that Anthony’s return to the floor is right around the corner as he continues to nurse his ailing groin, the only thing people in New York and the country for that matter will be talking about is if Lin’s production on the floor will suffer with Melo back. The one main concern is that Melo is a player that likes to have the ball in his hands at all times and so is Lin.

The combination of Chauncey Billups and Carmelo Anthony worked with the Denver Nuggets and with the Knicks last season, but Jeremy Lin is much younger and active point guard which could change things up once Melo is back on the floor in the near future. It will be interesting to see how things work, but there is no doubt that the New York Knicks are riding high right now and are arguably the hottest team in the league.
