In the first three games of the NBA Finals, the consensus around the country and around the league was that the Miami Heat was the better team in this series with the Dallas Mavericks, but after Game 4 some people might be changing their tune. The Heat has the better defense, there is no doubting that, but the Mavs seem to be the more resilient team with a never say die attitude. Get tickets to tonight’s game now.
Coming into Game 4, Dirk Nowitzki was nowhere near 100% as he was suffering from a high fever, but he was still able to score a team-high 21 points and help lead the team to victory. With Dirk struggling with his health, the rest of the team stepped up and proved they could get the best of this extremely talented Miami Heat squad.
In Game 5, the Dallas Mavericks will be put in a must win situation once again as they could potentially take a 3-2 lead in the NBA Finals with a win on Thursday at American Airlines Center. This will also be the last game of the season in front of hometown crowd in Dallas, Texas which means the Mavericks could be pretty pumped up to leave their fans with a good taste in their mouth.
The Miami Heat on the other hand will be doing everything within their power to win Game 5 as it will give them the momentum heading back to South Beach and an edge over the Dallas Mavericks moving forward. The losing team in Game 5 will have the daunting task of facing elimination in the next two games, but in my opinion that will be the Miami Heat, especially if LeBron James continues to struggle.
Take the Mavs at -1.5.
