This season in the NFL has been an interesting one to say the least with offenses for teams all around the league blowing up. Not only has defense taken a backseat to potent offenses this season, but quarterbacks and wide receivers have seemingly become the most important players in the game once again.
With that being said, free agents gunslingers and wide receivers are now a hot commodity and a necessity for all 32 teams. With players going down left and right due to the shortened training camps, many teams have been paying attention to players that have become available.
One player that has been doing everything within his power to get back on the gridiron this season and possibly contend for a Super Bowl before he calls it quits is perennial Pro Bowl wide receiver Terrell Owens. Even though T.O. was one of the best wide receivers in the league last season with the Cincinnati Bengals, the team that recently traded away quarterback Carson Palmer had no intention of bringing Owens back for one more season.
With the Bengals passing on the option to re-sign T.O., the outspoken veteran wideout has had to look for a new job, but first he had to recover from a torn ACL injury that he suffered in the off-season. Despite actually making a full recovery in just six months, the interest in Terrell Owens around the NFL has been limited.
Only the Tennessee Titans have shown any interest in signing the 37-year-old veteran. Owens was hoping the recently publicized workout would interest at least one NFL team to come and watch, but not one of the 32 teams made an effort and now T.O. is still unemployed.
Along with the Tennessee Titans, the Washington Redskins and the Oakland Raiders could be calling Terrell Owens in the near future, but as of right now it looks like T.O. could be forced into retirement due to the lack of interest.
