It has been an interesting year for the Denver Broncos coming into this preseason as they have continued to make changes to their roster and deal with some devastating injuries in their backfield and on the defensive side of the football.

Despite the Broncos chances of making it into the playoffs this season being slim to say the least, Josh McDaniels’ squad has been optimistic as they seem confident that they will be able to compete with the San Diego Chargers and the Oakland Raiders in the AFC West division. This should be an exciting NFL football betting season for sure.

One of the biggest question marks for the Denver Broncos heading into this season and after this year is who will be their starting quarterback under center. There is no question that Kyle Orton will be their starter when the regular season begins against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but with superstar rookie Tim Tebow and former first-round draft pick Brady Quinn waiting for their chance on the sidelines, the debate has raged on about what direction the team might be going in after this season.

Fortunately for Orton, the Denver Broncos have been convinced that he is the right guy under center for this season and the one after as the team has signed their starting quarterback to a one-year contract extension worth about $9 million dollars with $5.5 million being guaranteed money.

This was a smart move by the Denver Broncos as it assures Kyle Orton that his job is not in jeopardy and that he will have a job for at least another season after this year, but if he does struggle this season and can’t get the job done, I won’t be surprised to see Tebow or Quinn get some time under center as the pressure from the media might force the hand of head coach Josh McDaniels. We feel that the online sportsbooks will think highly of Denver in many matchups this season.
