The Dallas Cowboys have gone through some drastic up-and-downs this season with plenty of criticism along the way, but it seems that America’s Team might have finally hit their stride as Tony Romo and company continue to fire on all cylinders. With four straight wins, the Cowboys have been able to leave the rest of the teams in the NFC East division in the dust as they are now sitting in first place and can see the division title on the horizon.
Obviously, the Cowboys must keeping playing at a high level from here on out as the New York Giants are still in striking distance, but Dallas controls their own fate from here on out as long as they can beat Eli Manning and company in the last game of the NFL regular season.
Unfortunately, despite finally getting back to form with a potent running to go with one of the best passing attacks in the NFL, the Dallas Cowboys have suffered a bit of a setback with Pro Bowl wide receiver Miles Austin struggling to get healthy and back on the football field. With a nagging hamstring injury, Austin will miss his fourth straight game this weekend as he has been ruled for Week 13’s matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.
In the absence of Miles Austin, Laurent Robinson has filled in nicely with 38 catches, 554 receiving yards and a team-high seven receiving touchdowns. With Robinson playing as well as he has over the past few weeks, the Cowboys are in no rush to get Austin back on the field if he isn’t 100% with that injured hamstring.
Regardless of Austin watching from the sidelines, the Dallas Cowboys are eyeing the playoffs right now and have become a force to be reckoned with once again with up-and-coming running back DeMarco Murray and surprisingly good wide receiver Laurent Robinson emerging as stars in the offense.
