New York Giants @ Indianapolis Colts Sun. Sept. 19th 8:20pm EST
There is no question that as of right now four-time NFL MVP quarterback Peyton Manning is the best player at his position, but even though Peyton is near unstoppable under center, his defense wasn’t able to back up his offense in Week 1 as the Indianapolis Colts fell to the division rival Houston Texans.
Fortunately, the loss to the Houston Texans was just the first game of the season and Peyton Manning and company can easily turn things around, but they will have their work cut out for them in Week 2 as they will be going up against the one-time Super Bowl champion’s younger brother in Eli Manning and the New York Giants.
The odds on this great match-up have the Colts at -5.5 by Bodog, one of the most trusted online sportsbooks around the world.
Obviously, the New York Giants aren’t exactly the same team that was able to pull off arguably the biggest Super Bowl upset in NFL history against the New England Patriots back in 2007, but they are still force to be reckoned with and if they can dominate in the ground game, the Indianapolis Colts could be in danger of starting off the season 0-2 for the first time since Peyton Manning was a rookie.
Even though an upset is likely as the Indianapolis Colts run defense is really exposed right now after the Houston Texans running back Arian Foster had a career day with 231 rushing yards and three touchdowns against the Colts last week, I believe that Peyton Manning will quickly bounce back from their disappointing loss and will be looking to put up a big number against the New York Giants this weekend on their home field at Lucas Oil Stadium.
There first couple of quarters might be rough for the Colts, but I fully expect to see Peyton Manning leading his team to victory for the first win of the season this Sunday night. This weekend is a fantastic week to get in on the actions and get your NFL football betting in early.
