In a brief telephone interview with CNN, the Democratic presidential nominee - who abruptly left a September 11 memorial service Sunday in NY - said that she's "feeling so much better" and that she'll be back on the campaign trail in "the next few days".

Clinton unexpectedly left Sunday's 9/11 anniversary ceremony in NY after feeling "overheated", according to her campaign.

Clinton said more information would be released, adding that "I've talked to my staff" and that "the information is out there".

"I just didn't think it was going to be that big a deal".

Mr Clinton told U.S. media: "Rarely, on more than one occasion, over the last many, many years, the same sort of thing's happened to her when she got severely dehydrated, and she's worked like a demon, as you know, as Secretary of State, as a senator, and in the year since". She told CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360" that despite doctor's orders to rest for five days, she thought she could "just keep going forward and power through it and that didn't work out so well". Was Clinton out of line with her characterization of Trump supporters?

In 1998, she developed a blood cot in a vein in her leg. 11 years later in 2009, she broke her elbow after a stumble at the State Department and underwent a successful surgery.

Trump, who is also promising to release new medical records this week, showed surprising restraint regarding Clinton's health. "You know, it is something that has occurred a few times over the course of my life, and I'm aware of it, and usually can avoid it".

Speaking in Maryland Monday, Trump said he was shocked to hear Clinton "attack, slander, smear and demean these wonderful, awesome people who are supporting our campaign". Clinton later said she regretted applying that description to "half" of Trump's backers, but stuck by her assertion that the GOP nominee has given a platform to "hateful views and voices".

"If you look at my scheduling in compared to anybody else's, there is not even a contest", Mr. Trump said on CNBC.

In addition to trying to calm jittery voters with this interview, Bill Clinton is stepping in for his pneumonia-plagued wife at tomorrow's pricey fundraisers set for Seth MacFarlane and Barry Diller's homes, campaign sources confirm to Deadline.

Trump's campaign has issued a short letter from his doctor saying he was in excellent health with "extraordinary" strength and stamina. Clinton is divisive, while Trump is the only candidate representing "all Americans".
