Tim Tebow could be the number two QB after impressive Denver Broncos debut

Coming into Sunday night’s preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals, all eyes were on rookie quarterback Tim Tebow as he was set to make his NFL debut and play a significant amount of time under center for the Denver Broncos after Kyle Orton and Brady Quinn took their turns earlier in the contest.

As many people had anticipated, Kyle Orton got the start and played extremely well in his short time under center as he finished with 84 yards and two touchdowns. Brady Quinn followed up Orton with a less than memorable performance as he noticeably struggled and finished with 68 yards on 6 of 16 passing and one interception. Continue Reading…

Monday Night Football Preview: New York Giants @ New York Jets

The New York Giants and the New York Jets are two NFL franchises that share the same stadium (New Meadowlands Stadium) and have a loyal fan following, but seem to be headed in different directions.

Back in 2008, Eli Manning and company were able to do the seemingly impossible by beating the 18-0 New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. No expected the Giants to pull offset arguably the biggest upset in Super Bowl history, but they did just that and the future looked bright for Tom Coughlin’s squad. Continue Reading…

Brandon Marshall says he will play in the NBA if the NFL is locked out

The Miami Dolphins will head into the 2010-2011 NFL season with high hopes of making it into the playoffs and maybe even contending for a Super Bowl title, but they will need to get some team chemistry between quarterback Chad Henne and new superstar wide receiver Brandon Marshall.

Obviously, adding Marshall to the Miami offense makes the Dolphins a much better team next season, but whether or not the addition of his perennial wide receiver will turn out to be a good move remains to be seen. In the meantime, the outspoken wideout has expressed his concern about a potential lockout in 2011 and what he intends on doing if the Miami Dolphins will not be on the gridiron in the 2011-2012 season. New York Jets Darrelle Revis could sit out the entire season

The New York Jets are one of the most promising young teams in the NFL right now as they have arguably the league’s best defense, a passionate head coach in Rex Ryan that is liked by the entire team and the future face of the franchise in quarterback Mark Sanchez.

Even though they must get better on the offensive side of the football and they almost certainly will this season with the additions of running back LaDainian Tomlinson and wide receiver Santonio Holmes, the defense is top notch with arguably the best shutdown cornerback in the NFL in Darrelle Revis. Dallas Cowboys beat Cincinnati Bengals in Terrell Owens debut

The NFL regular season might still be about a month away with the New Orleans Saints starting off their title defense against the Minnesota Vikings on September 9th, but preseason has officially begun with the Dallas Cowboys taking on the Cincinnati Bengals in the Hall of Fame Game.

Not only was this game a big deal for the Dallas Cowboys as they witnessed arguably their best player of all-time in running back Emmitt Smith get inducted into the Hall of Fame, but it would also be the first time they would see former Cowboy Terrell Owens on the other side of football field as he made his debut with the Bengals. NFL Reports say that Vikings QB Brett Favre will retire

There are very few Hall of Fame caliber quarterbacks that have been able to stand the test of time and the brutal beatings sustained throughout a long NFL season year after year, but despite fighting through an unprecedented 19 years in the league, Brett Favre has been able to stay relatively healthy and amongst the best at his position.

Last season the Silver Fox decided to give it one more shot behind center for the Minnesota Vikings. The consensus was that with Favre as their quarterback, the Vikings would instantly become a Super Bowl title contender instead of team that struggles to make the playoffs in the NFC Conference. Online sportsbooks loved the action with Minnesota last year. Continue Reading…

Colts want Peyton Manning to become highest paid player in the NFL

The Indianapolis Colts have been one of the most successful teams in the NFL over the past decade or so as they always seem to be a threat to contend for a Super Bowl title every single season. Even though it is team effort for the Colts, the main reason for their success has been the presence of four-time NFL MVP Peyton Manning behind center. Continue Reading…

Ryan Matthews signs five-year deal with San Diego Chargers

Coming into last season, the San Diego Chargers were thought to be legitimate Super Bowl title contenders as they seemed to finally have the right pieces of the puzzle in place and ready to lead this team to the next level.

Unfortunately, Philip Rivers and company got off to a rough start in the beginning of the season as they lost three of the first five games and were thought to be on their way to their first losing season in quite some time. Continue Reading…

Denver Broncos sign Tim Tebow to five-year deal

Coming into the 2010 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos were owners of the 25th overall pick and even though most people anticipated head coach Josh McDaniels leaning in the direction of drafting a wide receiver after trading Pro Bowler Brandon Marshall to the Miami Dolphins, he surprised everyone by selecting Florida superstar Tim Tebow. Washington Redskins Albert Haynesworth fails first conditioning test

The one team in the NFL that has made more drastic moves than any other team in the league this offseason is the Washington Redskins. Not only were they able to hire one of the best NFL head coaches of all-time in Mike Shanahan, but they were also able to make a deal for six-time Pro Bowl quarterback Donovan McNabb which without a doubt is huge improvement for this struggling offense. The Redskins are predicted by many sports betting sites to finish last in the NFC East. Continue Reading…
