The spread for Super Bowl XLV fluctuate a little bit last week when the Green Bay Packers are favored by -3 and then I got put down to -2.5, depending on the NFL football betting site your looking at. That spread is pretty reasonable as this game should be a close hard-fought battle from start to finish with most likely a game-winning field goal being the deciding factor.
Even though everyone is expecting this game should be won and lost on the defensive side of the football, I believe we might see more offense than people are anticipating. There’s no question that the Green Bay Packers are the better team on offense with players like perennial Pro bowl quarterback Aaron Rodgers and wide receiver Greg Jennings, but the Pittsburgh Steelers are a team that has flown under the radar offensively with their studs on offense in two-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and running back Rashard Mendenhall.
In my opinion, this game will be filled with both teams trying to score points through the air. The Steelers are the much better team in the ground game with Mendenhall coming out of the backfield, but the taxes are the better team in the passing game as Aaron Rodgers is amongst the best in the league at his position.
As for the over/under for this game is at 44.5 as of right now. That basically means that both teams will score 20 points in this matchup which I feel is pretty accurate.
Personally, I would go with the over 44 in Super Bowl XLV as I get the feeling that the Packers light up the scoreboard in the Steelers will score at least 21 points. The defense will have an impact, don’t get me wrong, but I believe the offense of both teams is getting underestimated which leads me to think that taking the over 44.5 is the best bet!
