Denver Broncos @ New England Patriots: 45-10 Patriots
This weekend at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro the stage was set of an epic showdown between two of the NFL’s most popular quarterbacks. The headlines of Tim Tebow vs. Tom Brady was good enough to draw plenty of viewers for the AFC Divisional Round playoff game between the Denver Broncos and the New England Patriots, but the outcome was another story altogether.
To say that the Patriots dominated the Broncos on Saturday night would be an understatement as Tim Tebow and company stood no chance against this relentless offense. With Tebow taking the spotlight away from Brady, the two-time NFL MVP and three-time Super Bowl champion may have taken it as motivation as he absolutely lit up the Broncos’ defense for six touchdowns passes.
Five of these touchdown passes by Brady came in the first half which set an NFL playoff record. Needless to say, Brady won the showdown of golden boy quarterbacks as the Patriots went on to rout the Broncos, 45-10.
Houston Texans @ Baltimore Ravens: 20-13 Ravens
The Houston Texans have had a rough year this season as they have had to deal with multiple season-ending injuries. Despite all their injuries, the Texans were still able to clinch a playoff spot and win the AFC South division which are both franchise firsts for Houston. With that being said, this team has been a success regardless of what was in store in the NFL playoffs.
Fortunately, the Houston Texans were able to get past the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Wild Card, but the same couldn’t be said for the AFC Divisional Round against the Baltimore Ravens. This may have not have been a dominant victory for the Ravens over the Texans, but it was a win nonetheless with Joe Flacco and company advancing to the AFC Championship game by a score of 20-13.
