Last season the Cincinnati Bengals were amongst the best teams in the league on both sides of the football they were finally able to get things going with a healthy Carson Palmer, a dominant running game with Cedric Benson and a surprisingly good defense. The online sportsbooks really seemed to like them last season.
As a result, the Cincinnati Bengals dominated the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers throughout the regular season and won the AFC North division for the first time since 2005.
This season the Bengals have high hopes of competing for another division title and a run at s possible Super Bowl title as they have improved their offense with perennial Pro Bowl wide receiver Terrell Owens to play alongside superstar wideout and the equally controversial Chad Ochocinco.
Even though the NFL regular season hasn’t even begun yet, the Cincinnati Bengals have already gotten a lot of media attention recently with the addition of T.O. and Ochocinco’s antics on and off the field.
Despite being warned by the NFL and the Cincinnati Bengals coaching staff constantly about Twitter and the right and wrong times to send messages, Ochocinco has completely ignored those warning and has been for the first time this season after tweeting during the Bengals preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles last Friday.
Apparently, Ochocinco tweeted twice from the sidelines during this preseason game with one of his tweets being about a hit he took during the game.
As a way to penalize the six-time Pro Bowl wideout, the NFL has fined Chad Ochocinco $25k for two violations. The first violation for have an electronic devise on the field and the second for using tweeting during the game.
These violations are probably the first of many to come as the pairing of Ochocinco and T.O. in Cincinnati is bound to result in plenty of fines throughout the regular season.
