Last season the Oakland Raiders were finally able to get back on the right track as they had their first successful season in about a decade. Even though they didn’t make it back to the playoffs, Al Davis’ team was able to some signs of promise as they had the second best rushing attack in the league with running backs Darren McFadden and Michael Bush leading the way and went undefeated in divisional play with a 6-0 record.
Unfortunately, the Oakland Raiders were only able to beat two other teams in the league outside of the AFC West division and that wasn’t enough to hold of the Kansas City Chiefs from winning the division title. Despite not being able to make the playoffs last season, there is a hope for the future for this storied NFL franchise as they have a talented young team moving forward, but they did fail to re-sign some key free agents in the offseason.
After losing arguably their best all-around player in Nnamdi Asomugha (Philadelphia Eagles) and their best offensive player in the passing game in tight end Zach Miller (Seattle Seahawks) via free agency, there has been some concern about where this team might be headed. Fortunately, the Raiders were able to make a step in the right direction as they have re-signed running back Michael Bush.
Reportedly, the Oakland Raiders have agreed on a one-year deal with Michael Bush worth about $2.6 million dollars. Bush really didn’t have many options in terms of free agency due to the fact that he was a restricted free agent and any team that would sign him would have to give a number one pick to the Oakland Raiders.
This was definitely smart move for the Raiders as Bush played a pivotal role in running game last season.
