NFL Week 9: Chicago Bears @ Philadelphia Eagles

Chicago Bears @ Philadelphia Eagles Sun. Nov. 6, 2011 8:30 p.m. EST

This week’s Monday Night Football matchup between the Chicago Bears and the Philadelphia Eagles has the potential to be one of the best of the season. With the Bears winning two straight games against the division rival Minnesota Vikings (39-10) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (24-18), this Chicago squad is starting to look like last year’s team that won the NFC North division title.

In Week 9, the defensive-minded Chicago Bears will try to keep up their winning ways on the road by heading to Philadelphia to take on the resurgent Eagles. With Michael Vick and company looking as advertised for the first time of the season in the win over the division rival Dallas Cowboys (34-7) last week, this Philadelphia Eagles team may have started to turn the corner and become that “Dream Team” that everyone thought they would be.

Now that the Philadelphia Eagles are firing on all cylinders on both sides of the football, the Chicago Bears’ defense will have their hands full against the high-powered offense led by superstar quarterback Michael Vick and running back LeSean McCoy. Not only are the Eagles looking really good offensively, but the defense has started to step up as well and might cause Bears’ quarterback Jay Cutler some problems.

As of right now, the Philadelphia Eagles are the heavy favorites to come out on top on Monday Night Football with a -8 point spread. This spread is pretty ridiculous in my opinion as the Eagles have only just started to get back on track and might struggle against the lockdown defense of the Bears. With that being said, I believe that the wise decision here would be to take the Bears.
