Chicago Bears @ Detroit Lions Sun. Dec. 5th 2010 1pm EST
Despite being arguably one of the streakiest teams in the NFL this season, the Chicago Bears have been able to win four straight games, be the only defense in the league to figure out how to stop superstar quarterback Michael Vick and maintain their first place standing in the NFC North division.
As if beating the Philadelphia Eagles last week at Soldier Field wasn’t impressive enough (31-26), quarterback Jay Cutler had arguably his best game as the Chicago Bears starting gunslinger with 247 passing yards, four touchdowns (no interceptions) and finishing with a passer rating of 146.2.
There is no question at this point in the NFL regular season that the Chicago Bears have the best defense in the NFL with Pro Bowlers Brian Urlacher and Julius Peppers leading the way, but having Jay Cutler coming into his own makes it all the more sweeter as this team seems to be playoff bound with a great chance of winning the NFC North division.
Coming into Week 13, the Chicago Bears will look to keep up their winning ways against arguably one of the most promising teams in the league in the Detroit Lions. Despite giving the New England Patriots are run for their money on Thanksgiving Day, at least in the first half, Calvin Johnson and company will have their work cut out for them this week trying to score on this lockdown defense of the Chicago Bears.
As of right now, the Chicago Bears are favored to come out on top in this NFC North showdown with a -3.5 point spread. Even thought the Lions are capable of putting up some points, I believe the Bears should just cruise to victory in this one while covering the spread with relative ease.
