Cleveland Browns @ Oakland Raiders Sun. Oct. 16, 2011 4:05 p.m. EST
This season the Oakland Raiders seem to be improving every single week as they continue to play well and beat playoff caliber teams like the Houston Texans and the New York Jets. With that being said and the fact that the Raiders will have rookie quarterback Terrell Pryor giving them insurance under center, Oakland could be on their way to a blowout this weekend as they play host to the Cleveland Browns.
Despite the Cleveland Browns potentially having a bright future with second-year quarterback Colt McCoy under center and Pro Bowl running back Peyton Hillis coming out of the backfield, this week the Browns are fairly big underdogs to come out on top against very good Oakland Raiders squad that can get the job done on both sides of the football this season.
Not only are the Oakland Raiders a much better team than last year’s squad, but they also are in the middle of an emotional season in which they suffered the loss of longtime owner Al Davis. As if the team being vastly improved wasn’t enough incentive to make a push for the playoffs, the Raiders are now playing in memory of their dedicated and passionate owner.
With that being said, I believe the Cleveland Browns don’t stand a chance in Week 6 against the Oakland Raiders. Not only are the Raiders a better all-around football team right now, but Oakland will be playing their first game in the Bay Area since the passing of Al Davis which means they will be motivated to get the big win.
As of right now, the Oakland Raiders are favored to get the win with a -7 point spread. This spread is as solid as any this week.
Take the Raiders -7.
