As arguably one of the most anticipated matchups of Week 2, the up-and-coming Detroit Lions will face off against the defending NFC West division champion San Francisco 49ers in the Bay Area.

Last season, these two teams on the rise in the NFC Conference went head-to-head in a game that came down to the wire and ultimately created some controversy with an odd exchange between head coaches Jim Harbaugh and Jim Schwartz.

With Harbaugh a fiery and passionate coach, the exchange between the two coaches at the end of the game was taken differently with Harbaugh all fired up and Schwartz unhappy with the way he handled it. After the controversial handshake at midfield, Schwartz ran after Harbaugh and got into his face to let him know he didn’t appreciate the way he shook his hand.

Needless to say, the handshake was heard all over the NFL with neither head coach becoming fond of one another. The problem has since been squashed by the two up-and-comers, but ill feelings are almost certainly still lingering.

Regardless of the potential beef between the head coaches, the game still needs to be played and it will most likely be one of the most entertaining of the week. The Lions didn’t look as good as they’re on paper last week against the St. Louis Rams, but Matthew Stafford and company are as talented as it gets on the offensive side of the football.

After taking down the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field last week, the 49ers proved that they haven’t missed a beat after last season’s success and are ready to make run at the Super Bowl. With that being said, Detroit is in for run for their money for a second straight week.

As of right now, San Francisco is favored by -7. That is right on the money in my opinion as the 49ers should pull away in the second half with a commanding lead.

Take the 49ers at -7.
