Thursday, the Colorado Avalanche announced that they have traded their forward T.J. Hensick in exchange for the St. Louis Blues forward Julian Talbot.
In addition to the trade of Hensick and acquirement of Talbot, the Avalanche has also re-signed two other forward including Kevin Porter and Philippe Dupois as well as defenseman Ray Macias. All three of these men have signed a contract amounting to one-year.
25-year-old Talbot has been with the Peoria Riverman for the last three seasons. In 76 games, he was able to collect 32 points consisting of 17 goals and 15 assists. He originally signed as a free agent with the Riverman back in March of 2008.
24-year-old Porter (pictured) was acquired on March 3 by Colorado. He then recorded 3 points, consisting of 2 goals and 1 assist during the 16 appearances he made with the Avalanche this past season. He has a total of 54 NHL career games where he has recorded 13 points consisting of 7 goals and 6 assists.
25-year-old Dupois had a total of 35 points, consisting of 16 goals and 19 assists, in the 68 games that he played with 2009-2010 team the Lake Erie Monsters. This past season, he also participated in four games with the Avalanche where his very first NHL point and assist was recorded during the game against Phoenix in November. He has appeared in 12 NHL games where he scored one point.
23-year-old Macias was drafted by Colorado in the 2005 Entry Draft in the fourth round, which was the 124th pick overall and the sixth pick for the Avalanche. For the 2009-2010 season, he played for Lake Erie where he recorded 17 points, consisting 7 goals and 10 assists in the 52 appearances he made. His first NHL career games were back in the 2009-2009 season with the Avalanche where he gained one point with an assist during his six appearances.
