The Los Angeles Lakers are coming off their second straight NBA title after being taken the distance by the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals, but even though most people believe that this team would not be thinking about next season for at least another month or so, the defending champs have already started looking at possible free agent additions.
The first free agent that came out and said that he would love to play for the Los Angeles Lakers, besides All-Star forward Chris Bosh, was two-time NBA scoring champion Tracy McGrady. Now even though adding McGrady to the Lakers is a possibility, I would say it is a stretch, but I also said the same thing about Ron Artest last season so anything can happen.
Recently, another free agent was mentioned as being possibly a good fit with the Lakers and oddly enough a personal favorite of Kobe Bryant.
A few years ago, when the Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns were battling it out in the first round of the playoffs, Kobe Bryant and defensive minded forward Raja Bell really went at it with some extremely physical play which ended with a suspension and bad blood between the two players.
It is no secret that Kobe Bryant has his fair share of enemies around the league, but Raja Bell was thought to be at the top of the list, at least until now.
Reportedly, Kobe Bryant has said that the two players have squashed their beef of a few years ago and the five-time NBA champion is actually one of Bell’s biggest fans. Not only is Kobe a big fan of Bell, but he would love to see him in purple and gold next season as Bell brings his defense and outside shot to an already talented bench.
