The Cowboys aren’t the only team that’s signing undrafted free agents; the Jets are as well. The Jets have signed two free agents that went undrafted in this year’s 2010 NFL Draft. The two linebackers that signed with the Jets Monday were Brashton Satele and Cory Reamer. While two free agents were signed as linebackers, Broderick Stewart, free agent linebacker, was released.
The sign came after the team’s rookie mini-camp this past weekend where both Reamer and Satele received tryouts and very much impressed with the coaches with their skills.
Reamer, 6’3”, 231 pounds, has a record of accomplishment of 50 tackles, an interception as well as two sacks last year while he played for his Alabama team and helped lead them to the playoff game against Texas in which Alabama took home the national title. One thing that impressed the coaches was Reamer’s full understanding of the Jets’ complex playbook.
Although Satele, 6’, 241 pounds, missed last year with Hawaii because of an injury to his left shoulder, he still showed impressive work this past weekend on the rookie mini-camp with the New York Jets. The NCAA denied medical exemption eligibility, which would have allowed for Satele to play for sixth year in 2010 with the Warriors. Satele has a record of accomplishment of 53 tackles in his 2008 season.
It was just last week that Broderick Stewart, 6’4”, 232 pounds, was signed as a free agent with the New York Jets after his 4 ½ sacks and 28 tackles last season in his 12 games with Vanderbilt; however, he did not make as much of impression on the coaches this past weekend at mini-camp as Reamer and Satele and because of this was released from the New York Jets.
