Although specific terms of the contract agreement were not disclosed, Dan LeFevour signed a contract Thursday with the Chicago Bears that amounts to a four-year deal.
The Bears selected LeFevour, from Central Michigan University, in the sixth round of this year’s NFL Draft, overall 181st selection. At Central Michigan University, he achieved the honor of being the all-time leader in the NCAA Bowl Subdivision with a total amount of 150 touchdowns. Very impressive in his four years of play with Central Michigan.
Another impressive honor that 6-foot-3 LeFevour claimed while at Central Michigan is second best in NCAA Bowl Subdivision history in total offense with 15, 853 yards.
LeFevour is now the fourth of the five draft picks from this year’s draft of the Chicago Bears that have been officially signed. This is all within less than a week’s time at that. In addition to LeFevour receiving his four-year deal, others that have received their contract agreements with the Bears include defensive end and fourth round draft pick Corey Wootton who signed with the Bears on Wednesday, cornerback and fifth round draft pick Joshua Moore who signed with the Bears on Tuesday, and tackle and seventh round draft pick J’Marcus Webb who signed with the Bears on Sunday. The third round draft pick and safety from Florida, Major Wright has still gone unsigned at this point.
LeFevour has been participating in rookie camp for the Bears and will head to the team’s mini-camp this weekend beginning Friday at Halas Hall. He has a very productive and impressive record of accomplishment at Central Michigan during his four years there, let’s hope he can bring some of those impressive achievements and show his skill while playing with the Bears this year.
