Percy Harvin taken to the hospital after collapsing in practice

The Minnesota Vikings received some great news this past Wednesday when they learned that their superstar quarterback Brett Favre would be back for one more season under center. This was the one thing the NFL franchise had been waiting for all offseason long, but just a day later they got some bad news as reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year Percy Harvin collapsed during practice and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance as a result.

Last season the Minnesota Vikings was amongst the best in the league at one of the main reasons for having such a dynamic offense was the presence of quarterback Brett Favre under center, running back Adrian Peterson coming out of the backfield and wide receivers Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin downfield.

This season the Vikings will have relatively the same team intact with some welcome additions, but without Harvin as a target for Favre in the offense, the Vikings could struggle early on to put points on the board.

Throughout last season the former Florida Gators standout suffered from migraines and at times was questionable for games, but despite being in obvious pain at times, the young wideout was able to hang tough and fight through the pain.

Recently, Harvin has been suffering from migraines once again and as a result has missed considerable time in training camp, but despite missing time, the Vikings were optimistic about one of their best wide receivers being ready to go once the regular season began.

Unfortunately, now Harvin’s playing status is uncertain after his collapse during practice and the Minnesota Vikings might be starting think about what they will have to do if Percy is won’t be able to start the season or if the problem is serious enough that he might miss considerable time. Bodog, one of the leading online sportsbooks has the Vikings at +3 against the 49ers this weekend.
