The Minnesota Vikings are no strangers to being in the headlines and over the past month they have frequently been surrounded by the sports media with the Brett Favre saga ongoing and wide receiver Percy Harvin collapsing during a practice.

Fortunately, the Vikings got some really good news last week by learning that their three-time NFL MVP quarterback Brett Favre would return for one more season, but just a day later saw Percy Harvin leave the practice field in an ambulance due to collapsing as a result of a severe migraine.

Even though Harvin continues to suffer from these migraines, the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year was able to return to practice and for the time being seems to questionable at best to start the season against the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints on September 9^th.

With Harvin’s playing status in question moving forward and Sidney Rice still deal with a nagging hip injury, the Minnesota Vikings are pretty thin at wide receiver right now and have been looking into adding some wideouts.

On Monday, the Vikings took a look at veteran wideout and former Green Bay Packers Pro Bowler Javon Walker as a possible replacement for the time being.

As a former teammate of Brett Favre in Green Bay, Javon Walker seems to be the ideal candidate to fill in at wide receiver for the time being as Brad Childress and company wait for Percy Harvin and Sideny Rice to get back healthy.

Ironically enough, the reason that Javon Walker parted ways with the Green Bay Packers back in 2006 was comments made by Brett Favre about the wide receiver holding out of minicamp in order to get a new contract after becoming a Pro Bowler the season before.

Obviously, if the two still had ill feelings towards each other the Vikings wouldn’t have signed the veteran wideout, but even though Walker was a very talented player a few years ago, he may not even make the team if he can’t cut it in practice.
