Pittsburgh Steelers vs Cincinnati Bengals Mon. Nov. 8th 2010 8:30pm EST
Last season the Pittsburgh Steelers came into their Super Bowl title defense with high hopes of repeating as Super Bowl champions, but they really struggled from the get go as their defense fell apart without superstar safety Troy Polamalu and their offense was virtually nonexistent.
Fortunately, this season they have been able to get back on track and look like the team that won the Super Bowl a couple of years ago. With a new found sense confidence on both sides of the football, Mike Tomlin’s squad has proved that they are a force to be reckoned with once again and arguably one of the best teams in the NFL this season.
Even though they have exceeded expectations already with a 5-2 record coming into Week 9, they are coming off a disappointing loss to the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints last week and will be looking to get back to form this week against the defending AFC North division champion Cincinnati Bengals.
Despite going a perfect 6-0 against divisional opponents last season, Carson Palmer and company have really struggled to get anything going this season even with the addition of superstar wide receiver Terrell Owens as they will come into this AFC North showdown with a very disappointing 2-5 record and a last place standing within the division.
As of right now, the Pittsburgh Steelers are favored to come out on top in this Monday Night Football battle against their division rivals with a -4.5 point spread. Even though the Steelers are still licking their wounds from their loss to the New Orleans Saints, I really can’t see any way they lose this one as they should dominate the Cincinnati Bengals from start to finish while covering the spread.
