New York Jets @ Baltimore Ravens Sun. Oct. 2, 2011 8:20 p.m. EST

The New York Jets hit a bit of a bump in the road last week after failing to pull off the come-from-behind victory over the Oakland Raiders. Even though the Jets were expected to win that game in Week 3, the Raiders are the real deal this season and by no means an easy win for any opponent at this point in time.

With that being said, the loss in Oakland wasn’t as devastating as some NFL analysts are making it out to be as they Jets were just beaten by a motivated squad led by one of the best running backs in the league in Darren McFadden. Fortunately, this loss may have come at just the right time for the Jets because it should give them the right motivation to take Rex Ryan’s former team the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4.

Even though the Baltimore Ravens lost to the Tennessee Titans in Week 2, Joe Flacco and company are still considered to be amongst the elite class in the NFL and a legitimate Super Bowl title contender. In Week 3, the Ravens were able to bounce back from their loss against the Titans with a very impressive win over the St. Louis Rams, 37-7.

This win over the Rams showed everyone that the Ravens were able to correct their mistakes and get right back on track, but now they will face arguably one of their toughest tests of the season against the New York Jets.

As of right now, the Baltimore Ravens are favored to get the win in Week 4 with a -4 point spread. The winner of this showdown between AFC Conference heavyweights will almost certainly get the victory by a margin of four or more, but I’m not quite sure that will be the Ravens.
