The wait is over as the three-time NFL MVP quarterback Brett Favre has decided to return to the Minnesota Vikings for one more season and one more shot at winning a second Super Bowl title.
There has been a lot of speculation during NFL offseason on whether or not Brett Favre’s surgically injured ankle could hold up for another long NFL regular season and well into the playoffs, but apparently the 20-year veteran believes that his ankle will stand the test of time as he has agreed to be the Vikings main man under center once again. We reported yesterday that there was a lot of chatter in some of the online sportsbooks forums.
There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that with Brett Favre being the Minnesota Vikings’ gunslinger this season drastically improves their chances of competing for a Super Bowl title this season, but they will have their work cut out for them in the NFC Conference as quite a few teams have made considerable upgrades to their roster and will be tough to beat during the NFL regular season.
Amongst the team’s stiffest competition will be the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints, Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers and the Atlanta Falcons. All four of these teams have only improved their chances to compete in the NFC Conference over the past couple of seasons and will come into this season with high hopes of making the playoffs and possible making a run at the Super Bowl.
Even though all four teams will give the Minnesota Vikings a run for their money in the NFC Conference this season, the Vikings best competition could be against the Dallas Cowboys who have improved their team on both sides of the football and will be looking to avenge their playoff loss to Brett Favre and company from last season.
Regardless of what happens from here on out, having Brett Favre back in the league for one more year only makes the NFL that much more interesting as this could be a season for the record books!
