"New Orleans marks the fifth vacation destination for our travelers flying out of Concord", said Jude Bricker, Allegiant chief operating officer.

Allegiant Air is adding a new flight from Dayton International Airport, and the airline is making it affordable. One-way fares start at an introductory price of $45. Flights to Pittsburgh International Airport launch December 16.

Allegiant has been offering service out of Pittsburgh since 2015.

The route is the latest offering from Las Vegas-based Allegiant, one of several low-priced carriers with growing operations out of CVG.

The seasonal service will go twice weekly from Portsmouth to the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport which is near St. Petersburg and Tampa Bay, according to the airline's website.

"We are very pleased to welcome the addition of two nonstop flights on Allegiant", Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau president and CEO Tom Noonan said.

Allegiant Air was founded in 1997 to provide low-priced flights from smaller US cities to vacation destinations across the country.

Austin's airport has added a number of new nonstops in recent years, helping it set an all-time record in 2015, with almost 12 million passengers - up 11 percent year over year.
