Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump linked illegal immigration and employment on Saturday, pledging to start deporting offenders as soon as he is sworn in should he become the White House's next occupant.
In a campaign speech in Des Moines, Iowa, Trump also cited the shooting death of a cousin of National Basketball Association star Dwyane Wade to urge African-American voters to rally behind him, calling it an example of violence that has to be addressed.
Donald Trump is finally doing what Republicans leaders had hoped he would the minute he clinched the GOP presidential nomination: he's hitting Hillary Clinton where it hurts. The next president will be sworn in on January 20.
In his speech, Trump said he would seek to institute a tracking system to ensure illegal immigrants who overstay their visas are quickly removed, and would propose an e-verify system to prevent the illegal community from gaining access to welfare and other benefits.
"If we don't enforce visa expiration dates, then we have an open border - it's as simple as that", he added.
"Every time an African American citizen, or any citizen, loses their job to an illegal immigrant, the rights of that American citizen have been totally violated", he argued.
Speaking at a fundraiser for Iowa Senator Joni Ernst, Trump outlined more details of his immigration policy, telling the audience he wants to crack down on expired visas, make it easier for employers to check work eligibility and repeal President Barack Obama's executive orders on immigration.
Trump has so far provided few concrete plans on how he would deal with immigration, except for his idea to build a wall along the Mexican border.
Colin Kaepernick is the best fit for Chip Kelly's offense
Kaepernick hasn't been under center since November 8 of a year ago , but if he impresses on Friday, it could make things interesting again.

Trump said the death in Chicago of Wade cousin Nykea Aldridge, 32, a mother of four, was an example of turmoil in U.S. inner cities. Just what I have been saying.
Trump made a stark pitch earlier this month to African-American voters in MI, saying of voting for him: "What the hell do you have to lose?".
He was referring to the shooting death on Friday of Nykea Aldridge during an exchange of gunfire between two men as she pushed a baby stroller in Chicago.
"He doesn't give a fkk".
You don't get to cherry pick.
"We can continue with the leadership that has left us with unsafe streets in our cities, failing schools, no jobs", he said. Instead, it may be a sign that Trump understands the responsibility awaiting him, should he win the 2016 USA presidential elections. "They are in my thoughts and prayers".
