Delta Air Lines delayed or canceled hundreds of flights Monday after its computer systems crashed, stranding thousands of people on a busy travel day.

Southwest Airlines Co forecast on Wednesday a further drop in a key profitability metric for the quarter due to delays and cancellations of more than 2,000 flights after an outage hit its computer systems in July.

Delta is predicting 90 flights to be canceled Wednesday, although tracking service FlightStats indicates there are about 150, the Associated Press reported.

"We are doing everything we can to return our operation to normal reliability, but we do expect additional delays and cancellations", Holtz said.

Delta won't charge its ticket change fee, which can cost as much as $500, even if your flight was not canceled.

Delta operates 5,000 departures a day and is a member of the SkyTeam alliance alongside airlines including Air France-KLM.
