New York Giants vs Houston Texans Sun. Oct. 10^th 1pm EST

The Houston Texans are a team on the rise in the NFL as they have finally been able to build a team with a solid foundation and an offense that is amongst the best in the league.

Much like their division rivals in the Indianapolis Colts, the Houston Texans have been able to create a dynamic offense that concentrates solely on the passing game, but unlike the Colts, the Texans have been able to get their ground game going this season with the emergence of up and coming running back Arian Foster.

With an elite passing game and a promising running game, the Houston Texans have one of the most dynamic offenses in the NFL today, but it will be put to the test in Week 5 as they go up against the New York Giants defense that sacked the Chicago Bears quarterbacks (Jay Cutler, Todd Collins) 10 times last week.

At this point in the NFL regular season, the Houston Texans are by far the better team, especially on the offensive side of the football, but with the New York Giants pass rush playing as well as they did against the Chicago Bears last week, Matt Schaub and company could be in trouble in Week 5. San Diego Chargers vs Oakland Raiders Sun. Oct. 10^th 4:15pm EST

There are very few division rivalries that can stand the test of time, but the Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers are one of those AFC West division rivalries that are filled with passionate hatred between two teams that just want to kill each other no matter what is on the line.

It’s been a tough few games for Brett Favre. With primary receiver Sydney Rice out for half the season and wide out Percy Harvin unable to spread the field, Favre has found himself running for his life with nowhere to throw on countless occasions. All that could change, however, thanks to the arrival of Randy Moss. Yes, this is the same Randy Moss who made his name playing for the Vikings. Of course, that’s where he developed his wacky, selfish reputation as well.

The trade has been a long time coming. Word had been filtering out of the Patriots organization for weeks that Moss was not happy and was looking to sign a new, long-term contract beyond his last year in New England. The Tampa Bay Rays can be forgiven for suffering from whiplash. Fresh off their AL East victory over the New York Yankees and boasting the best regular season record in the major leagues, they now find themselves on the verge of going home to stay, on the brink of elimination from the AL playoffs virtually overnight.

The past two days have seen them undergo a passing by the Texas Rangers, a team from a division far worse than the AL East. The Rangers coasted to the division win, while the Tampa Bay Rays had to fight till the last week of the season. Wednesday, the Houston Texans are set to sign defensive end Mark Anderson, a former Chicago Bears football player. Anderson was just released yesterday by the Bears in order for Chicago to make room for defensive end Charles Grant, a former New Orleans Saints.

Anderson had a promising rookie season but not so promising seasons after that. In 2006, his rookie season in the NFL, Anderson recorded 12 sacks, which was the highest for any NFL rookie. In the three seasons after his debut season, he recorded only 9 sacks with none for this 2010 NFL season thus far. Continue Reading…

St. Louis Rams vs Detroit Lions Sun. Oct. 10^th 1pm EST

Coming into the 2010 NFL Draft, the St. Louis Rams had the number one overall pick and even though there was a lot of debate about which player the team should take, the consensus was that quarterback Sam Bradford was the right decision and the future face of the struggling NFL franchise.

Fortunately, the Rams have played much better than anticipated to start the season as they have won two of the first four games so far. Not only has Sam Bradford lived up to the hype given to every number one overall draft pick, but he has turned into the undisputed leader of the Rams and might be able to lead this team to a NFC West division title this season if teams like the Seahawks Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals and the San Francisco 49ers continue to struggle this year. Denver Broncos vs Baltimore Ravens Sun. Oct. 10^th 1pm EST

The Baltimore Ravens came into this NFL regular season with a revamped offense and high hopes to come out on top in the AFC North division for the first time since 2006, but even though they may very well come out on top in the division, the competition hasn’t much better in the AFC North with the Cincinnati Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers looking like legitimate threats to win the division.

Coming into Week 5, the Baltimore Ravens are on a bit of a hot streak as they have beaten two AFC North division opponents in a row with a win over the Cleveland Browns (24-17) in Week 3 followed up by a win over the division leading Pittsburgh Steelers (17-14) last week. We are excited about this week’s NFL football betting action for sure.

Obviously, the Ravens were favored to beat the Browns in Week 3, but they beat the odds last week when they got the best of Steelers. With this win Joe Flacco and company were able to jump to the top spot in the AFC North, but they might have their work cut out for them in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos. Continue Reading…

Tampa Bay Bucs vs Cincinnati Bengals Sun. Oct. 10^th 1pm EST

The Cincinnati Bengals are one of the best teams in the NFL this season, but they definitely didn’t show it in the loss to the Cleveland Browns last week as the offense completely depended on Terrell Owens and the defense had no answer for Browns running back Peyton Hillis.

Even though the Bengals are coming off the loss to the Browns, Cincinnati is still a serious force to be reckoned with in the AFC Conference and they will be looking to prove that in Week 5 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Continue Reading…

Kansas City Chiefs vs Indianapolis Colts Sun. Oct. 10^th 1pm EST

As the odds on favorites to win the Super Bowl coming into this NFL regular season, the Indianapolis Colts have had a lot of pressure on them early on to win every single game and prove that they are once again Super Bowl bound, but just four weeks into the year, Peyton Manning and company have lost two games within their AFC South division to the Houston Texans and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Obviously, both the losses to the Texans and the Jaguars were very winnable games, but the Colts just didn’t seem to have the same kind of fire in the fourth quarter in order to make a come from behind victory possible. Sunday night, the Atlanta Braves clinched the National League Wild Card race by holding off the Philadelphia Phillies while the San Francisco Giants held the San Diego Padres off in order to clinch the National League West division title. With everything set in stone, the 2010 MLB playoffs can now begin.

The 2010 MLB playoffs will begin this Wednesday, October 6, and will be between the Texas Rangers and the Tampa Bay Rays. The game will be held in Tampa Bay and is scheduled to start at 1:37 p.m. ET. Tampa Bay hasn’t had the success in selling tickets at their home field as many other teams have but hopefully with the fact that they have won the American League East division title and with the Texas Rangers visiting they can actually sell some tickets to the first game of the playoff series this year.
