Jazz’s Kirilenko Won’t See Game 2 But Lakers Bynum Will

The Utah Jazz’s Tuesday night game against the Los Angeles Lakes will not see Andrei Kirilenko. This is Game 2 of the semifinal series for the Utah Western Conference.

Forward Andrei Kirilenko has been out of full play since March 12 when he strained the calf on his left leg. Last month, he created some aggravation to his injured left calf, which slowed his recovery a bit.

He has initially been listed as “50-50” for Game 2 of the Utah Western Conference and attended a complete practice on Monday and participated in the shoot around on Tuesday morning. He stated that he didn’t really experience pain in his calf, rather he felt some strength regaining in the muscle. Continue Reading…

Oklahoma City Thunder’s Scott Brooks wins NBA coach of the year

This season has been a breath of fresh air for the Oklahoma City Thunder as they have been able to completely turn around their franchise in just a single season.

Not only has Kevin Durant turned into arguably one of the best players in the league and the most dominant scorer in the game, but head coach Scott Brooks has been able to lead these young up and coming NBA players through an entire NBA season and into the playoffs.

Even though the Oklahoma City Thunder will almost certainly get knocked out of the first round of the playoffs, Brooks has been able to create a young team with an extremely promising future led by scoring machine Kevin Durant. Continue Reading…

Brandon Roy will miss first round of NBA playoffs

Injuries are a killer for many professional sports teams, but some more than others as injuries seem to happen more frequently and always to big name players.

The Portland Trail Blazers of the NBA are one of those teams that are extremely talented and plagued with injuries every single season.

Over the past three years or so this has never been more apparent for the Portland Trail Blazers as they have had their number one overall pick Greg Oden go down with injuries in three straight seasons and their all around best player Brandon Roy struggle to stay healthy when the team needs him the most. Chris Bosh unsure on future with Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors came into this NBA season with high hopes of finally being able to compete with the big boys in the Eastern Conference like the Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic and the Boston Celtics, but their free agent acquisition of Hedo Turkoglu turned out to be somewhat of a bust and now the Raptors are heading home instead of into the postseason.

Despite having an unsuccessful season this year after signing a high priced free agent in Turkoglu, the team has shown signs of improvement with players like Andrea Bargnani coming into his own and helping superstar forward Chris Bosh lead this team. Continue Reading…

Kobe Bryant will sit until playoffs

The defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers have had one hell of a year filled with turmoil, trade rumors and a number of injuries to some of their best players.

Despite everything this team has gone through in their title defense, Kobe Bryant and company have been able to pull it together and clinch the number one seed in the Western Conference for the third straight season.

Even though most people have been doubting the Lakers ability to compete for another NBA title this season, the best team in the West is definitely up for the challenge heading into the playoffs which is just around the corner. Continue Reading…

Larry Brown back to the Philadelphia 76ers?

There have been a lot of surprises in the NBA this season with some teams and players around the league, but few teams have been as surprising, in terms of success, than the Charlotte Bobcats.

Last season the Charlotte Bobcats and then president Michael Jordan made a bold decision and move to bring hall of fame head coach Larry Brown. Even though Brown has made his coaching legacy in other cities around the country, the former Tar Heel has come back to North Carolina to lead yet another NBA franchise to the playoffs. Manu Ginobili gets three year extension with Spurs

One of the most successful NBA franchises over the past 15 years or so has been without a doubt the San Antonio Spurs. No matter what changes this NBA franchise goes through they always put a great basketball team on the floor every single night and have a legitimate shot at contending for an NBA title in any given season.

This season has been somewhat of a wakeup call for the San Antonio Spurs as they have seen good teams in the Western Conference become great teams with young talent and superb coaching. Continue Reading…
