Michigan Wolverines (8) vs. Duke Blue Devils (1) Sun. March 20, 2025 2:45 p.m. EST
Arguably one of the most impressive wins in the second round of the 2011 NCAA tournament was the Duke Blue Devils (1) starting their NCAA title defense against the 16 seed Hampton Pirates. Not only did Coach K’s squad absolutely dominate the Pirates, but they proved everyone that they are ready to repeat as NCAA champions of college basketball.
With the 42 point when over the Hampton Pirates, the Duke Blue Devils (1) seem ready to compete with anyone right now as they are playing on top of their game once again. Obviously, the competition in the West Region is extremely tough and at one point or another the Duke Blue Devils (1) will have to face off against the San Diego State Aztecs (2), UConn Huskies (3) or the Texas Longhorns (4), but right now they look like they can contend with anyone and just might be the best number one seed of the three left in the 2011 NCAA Tournament.
Whether or not the Duke Blue Devils (2) will actually make it all away back to the National Championship game this season remains to be seen, but as of right now they are playing extremely well and will look to stay hot as they take on the Michigan Wolverines (8) in a third-round match up in order to reach the Sweet 16.
As of right now, Duke is favored to come out on top in this match up with a -11.5 point spread. The spread is extremely fair in my opinion and something that everyone should jump on as I can see the Blue Devils destroying the Wolverines in this game and covering the spread by a mile.
