Coming into the NBA offseason, the Chicago Bulls were one of the few teams in the league that had enough money to bring in multiple big-name free agents. Unfortunately, the Bulls were unable to bring in big-names like LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Amare Stoudemire or Chris Bosh, but they still were able to sign one big-name in former All-Star forward Carlos Boozer.
Even though Boozer is a great addition for the Chicago Bulls which makes them a much better team, especially in the frontcourt alongside center Joakim Noah, this summer has been somewhat of a disappointment as they haven’t been able to sign a shooting guard or small forward of any value. In order for the online sportsbooks to look more favorably on the Bulls, they need a good small forward.
Fortunately, there is light at the end of the tunnel for the Chicago Bulls as they still have some hope of filling the void at shooting guard and small forward.
At small forward, the Bulls are looking at former All-Star Josh Howard formerly of the Dallas Mavericks and the Washington Wizards. Even though Howard has said that he would like to re-sign with the Wizards, he is open to heading elsewhere as there are a few other teams, including the Chicago Bulls, that are interested in signing him before next season.
As for the shooting guard position, the Bulls are interested in signing two-time scoring champion Tracy McGrady. It is uncertain how interested the New York Knicks are in retaining McGrady, but with the former All-Star getting interest from teams like the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Clippers, it is more than likely that he will be headed elsewhere.
If the Chicago Bulls do end up signing one or both of these All-Star caliber players, they will almost certainly be a force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference once again and could be serious threat to the best of the best in the East.
