New York Knicks at Dallas Mavericks Thurs. March 10, 2025 9:30 p.m. EST

The New York Knicks are the one team in the league that pulled the trigger on a blockbuster trade before the NBA trade deadline on Feb. 24 that has really paid off. The Knicks have had a disappointing loss to arguably the worst team in the league in the Cleveland Cavaliers as of late, but they were able to get the best of the revamped Miami Heat and proved that they might be a title contender before the end of the NBA regular season.

With the NBA regular season quickly coming to a close, the New York Knicks will be doing everything within their power to move up the ranks in the Eastern Conference. Currently they are sitting in the sixth seed in the East, but with the Miami Heat, Orlando Magic and the Atlanta Hawks all starting to struggle with losing streaks, the New York Knicks could move up before the seeding is set in the Eastern Conference.

The only concern the Knicks will have moving forward is the health of point guard Chauncey Billups. With Billups missing time recently, the Knicks may be vulnerable in the backcourt which may be more apparent than ever against the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night.

As of right now, the Dallas Mavericks are arguably one of the best teams in the league as the current second seed in the Western Conference. Despite playing well in the regular season once again, the Mavs are in trouble as the two-time defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers are extremely hot right now winning their last eight games in a row.

With that being said, this game will be huge for both teams, but the Mavs will have the edge here as they are clearly the better team and will have the home court advantage.

As of right now, the Dallas Mavericks are favored with a -6 point spread. That is a bit high in my opinion, but plausible.
