Los Angeles Lakers at Dallas Mavericks Sat. March 12, 2025 9 p.m. EST

The NBA regular season is almost over as the majority of the teams in the league have about 15 left before the beginning of the NBA playoffs. With that being said, the playoff bound teams around the league are battling for playoff position in the Eastern and Western conferences. In the West, perhaps the most watched battle for position amongst the high seeds will be the two-time defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers trying to snatch the second seed away from the Dallas Mavericks.

On Saturday night in Dallas, the Lakers will try and bounce back from their loss to the Miami Heat by getting the best of the Mavs on their home floor. Even though the Lakers have played like arguably the best team in the league over the past couple of weeks, they will have no easy task ahead of them as the Mavs are playing as good as any team in the NBA right now and are coming off an impressive win over the revamped New York Knicks 127-109.

This game should be an all out battle from start to finish as both of these teams know they might end up seeing each other in the NBA playoffs. The Lakers will look to and get an advantage in the paint with their size in this matchup, but with the Mavs depth off the bench they might turn out to be too much for Kobe Bryant and company down the stretch.

Even though the Mavs are playing out of their minds recently, they may be overwhelmed by the Lakers size and ability to dominate the glass. With that being said, the Lakers might be able to get back on track quickly with a big win in Dallas.
