The NFL lockout might be on the verge of ending as the players and the owners are getting very close to a deal on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), but the NBA on the other hand might on the way to missing an entire season as the players and owners are extremely far apart on getting anything done at this point.
With the NBA lockout looking like something that could last a very long time, the players around the league have started to weigh their options and consider other avenues. The first big-name player to really make waves in terms of considering playing elsewhere during the NBA lockout is superstar point guard Deron Williams of the New Jersey Nets.
During last season, Deron Williams made a lot of headlines as he was said to be the main reason for Hall of Fame head coach Jerry Sloan stepping down in Utah and was part of one of the biggest blockbuster trades that went down. Now that Williams is with the Nets, the future looks bright in New Jersey as this struggling franchise might be able to bring in more talent to surround the perennial All-Star, but Williams isn’t thinking more about the short term future opposed to the long term as he has already agreed to play in Turkey if the NBA lockout continues through the season.
This is unheard of to say the least as it usually is the role players around the league that decide to make the move overseas during these kinds of situations in the NBA, but this time the complete opposite has happen as D-Will will be playing in Turkey with Beskitas.
This isn’t the first time the Turkish team Beskitas has landed a big-name NBA player and might not be the last as last year they signed Allen Iverson. There have also been rumors of Kobe Bryant heading to Turkey to play alongside Deron Williams.
