Tonight, the Texas Rangers battle the Cleveland Indians on the baseball field, but one starter for the Rangers won’t make an appearance tonight. C.J. Wilson has been removed from the starting grid of tonight’s game against the Indians due to a mild case of food poisoning.
Wilson came down with a case of food poisoning during the team’s off day on Tuesday and although his condition has improved and he is feeling better, the Rangers wanted Wilson to have one more good day of rest. It’s just a mild case of food poisoning and nothing very severe, but it is important for Wilson to have his rest before getting back out on the field.
Colby Lewis is now on the starting grid to pitch in tonight’s game due to the illness of Wilson. Lewis was initially scheduled to be the starting pitcher in Thursday’s game, but with Wilson not pitching, Lewis will step up and start in tonight’s game against the Indians.
With all that said, C.J. Wilson will be starting Thursday’s game against the Indians. He will be well rested and hopefully have a good arm after all that rest. If something happens and he is not feeling well enough to pitch on Thursday, Matt Harrison will pitch Thursday instead of his initial pitching schedule of Friday in New York. If this is the case, Wilson will likely pitch in New York on Friday in the place of Harrison.
