Over the past three seasons in the NFL, the New York Jets have made headlines on a daily basis and have quickly become one of the best teams in the league with outspoken head coach Rex Ryan calling the shots on the sidelines. Despite making it to two straight AFC Championship games before this season, the Jets have been criticized with every step forward with Rex Ryan unable to keep quiet and Mark Sanchez being as inconsistent as he has been.
Unfortunately, this season was a disappointment for the New York Jets as Rex Ryan failed to come through with his Super Bowl guarantee yet again and as a result there has been a lot of bad blood brewing in the Big Apple. Even though Rex Ryan has taken a lot of the heat as of late, Mark Sanchez seems to be the one getting all the criticism with quite a few players on his team calling for his head.
With Mark Sanchez not making much improvement in his third season as the Jets’ starting quarterback, the Jets could be in the market for a new quarterback and four-time NFL MVP Peyton Manning might be in their crosshairs. There may be a lot of questions about Manning’s future in the NFL and with the Colts right now, but if he is available via trade the Jets would definitely be interested in acquiring him.
With Peyton Manning under center, the New York Jets might be able to make the next step in the near future as the superstar quarterback is just what this talented football team has been missing. Now that the Indianapolis Colts will almost certainly take rookie Andrew Luck with the number one overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft, this once dominant squad could make the bold move of trading Peyton Manning and starting a new era at quarterback in Indianapolis.
